Supporting Local Schools
Education and young people have always been close to our hearts.
We've proudly supported a number of schools across the Blackpool area through practical improvements, educational initiatives and sponsorship projects designed to create better learning environments.
Our work has included:

Creating Better Spaces
The Hideaway – Moor Park School
One of our proudest community projects involved transforming an unused area of Moor Park School into a peaceful outdoor learning and wellbeing space known as The Hideaway.
Working alongside the school, our team invested almost 1,000 hours clearing the site, carrying out demolition work, laying drainage and constructing a welcoming outdoor environment where pupils can relax, socialise and learn outside the classroom.
The finished space continues to provide lasting benefits for both students and staff.
Boundary School – Five a Day Initiative
When teachers and parents at Boundary School began developing a sustainable allotment to encourage healthy eating, progress was limited due to available resources.
Read & Errington stepped in to help complete the project, creating a practical outdoor learning environment where pupils could grow fruit and vegetables while learning about healthy living and sustainability.
The project remains an excellent example of how small contributions can make a lasting difference.
Standing Against Bullying
Read & Errington proudly supported MADD About Bullying, helping fund teacher training programmes across several Blackpool primary schools.
This initiative helps schools tackle bullying and support positive mental wellbeing, providing teachers with practical resources that directly benefit young people throughout the area.
Supporting projects like this reflects our belief that investing in children and education creates stronger communities for everyone.

Supporting Local Sport
Encouraging young people to stay active is something we’re passionate about.
We’ve proudly sponsored children’s football teams, local sports clubs and community organisations, helping provide equipment, facilities and opportunities for young people to participate in sport.
One example includes supporting the Unique Training Centre Judo Club, helping provide essential equipment and enabling more children to take part safely.

Supporting The Boathouse Youth
We’re proud to support The Boathouse Youth, a local charity dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming and inspiring environment for young people in our community.
The charity offers opportunities to socialise, learn new skills, build confidence and access support, helping young people reach their full potential regardless of their background or circumstances.
We believe investing in young people creates stronger communities, which is why we’re committed to supporting organisations like The Boathouse Youth — helping them continue work that makes a lasting difference to local families.
Supporting Wooden Spoon in Blackpool
For many years, Read & Errington has proudly supported Wooden Spoon through fundraising events across Blackpool, helping to make a real difference to the lives of local children and young people.
Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby, working across the UK and Ireland to improve the lives of children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage. Since 1983 it has become one of rugby’s leading charitable organisations, funding projects that create opportunities for children to play, learn and thrive.
To positively transform the lives of children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage through the power of rugby.
Since its formation, Wooden Spoon has:
- Awarded more than £34 million in grants.
- Positively impacted over 2 million children and young people.
- Supported projects across the UK and Ireland through dedicated local volunteer committees.
As a Blackpool-based business, we know the money raised at local events helps fund projects that benefit children and families here — creating opportunities and making a lasting difference where it matters most.
Blackpool Scorpions Juniors Rugby Club
We’re proud to sponsor Blackpool Scorpions Juniors Rugby Club, supporting young players as they develop their skills, confidence and love for the game.

Representing their community on an international stage, the dancers showed months of dedication, commitment and hard work to reach one of the world’s most prestigious dance competitions.

Widnes Wild Academy & Senior Teams
Although based in Blackpool, Read & Errington has proudly supported Widnes Wild Academy and the Widnes Wild Senior Teams for many years. Ice hockey is a fantastic but often underfunded sport, relying on the generosity of sponsors, volunteers and the local community to provide opportunities for players of all ages.
Our support helps young athletes develop through a clear pathway from junior hockey into the senior game, while assisting the club in providing equipment, coaching and opportunities that might not otherwise be possible.
Sport has the power to inspire, build confidence and develop life skills that last far beyond the rink. We’re proud to play a small part in helping the club grow, supporting players from their very first steps on the ice through to senior level.
